Hall of Fame Awards

Two of our very own were honored with awards at the annual Hall of Fame banquet in Little Rock last weekend.  Scott Halliburton received the Arkansas Masters Swimmer of the Year Award.  Read about Scott’s background and his dedication and work ethic here.  And Anita Parisi was honored with the Phillips 66 Volunteer of the Year.  Anita gives tirelessly to both USA and USMS swimming, in addition to coaching and teaching lessons year round.  Congratulations to both Anita and Scott!

Swimmer Spotlight

 This month we are spotlighting Veronica Dockery from Fayetteville.   Veronica has been competing at our local meets and performing VERY well.  How she has time to train, work, and raise 3 young children is beyond me. Learn more about Veronica here.

Masters Member Gives Back:  Adult Learn to Swim Lessons

Bonnie Adams, masters member and owner of The Joys of Swimming in Bentonville is giving back to the community in several ways.  During the month of April, Bonnie provided 2 weeks of free Adult Learn to Swim classes.  I personally had the pleasure of teaching some of these classes and I can’t tell you how rewarding it was.  In addition, Bonnie is active in the community by offering Water Safety Classes to children, and a variety of clinics and classes for swimmers of all ages.  Follow Bonnie on Facebook by searching for:  @TheJoyofSwimming

Megan Cameron runs a very active and thriving masters program in Joplin, Missouri  that is designated as a Gold Club.    Evan though this club falls just outside the boundaries of the Arkansas Masters LMSC, all of her swimmers register with us, so we benefit through their membership and participation.  

Megan has also offered to host a meet this fall at the Missouri Southern State University pool which is Short Course Meters!  It’s a bit harder to find a SCM meet, so be sure to put this one on your calendar (9/28/19).  The registration link can be found above under Upcoming Events.  Follow Megan on Facebook by searching for: @mcswimcoach
