Francisco Mata grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas and is married and has two children. He’s been swimming since he was a kid, but returned to the sport about four years ago.

Advice for newcomers to Masters swimming: It is not about speed, but all about challenging yourself and setting new goals.

Where do you currently train?: At The Trim Gym in Jonesboro, with Dart Frog Aquatics (mornings, Mondays and Thursdays)
Any other sports for you?: Running! I will start with a triathlon this year.
