1 Dam Mile Race, Sunday Sept. 26th
This is the FIRST sanctioned (USMS and USA Swimming) Open Water Swim in Arkansas! Join Bonnie Adams with Swim Oz in a 1 mile open water swim at the Beaver Lake Dam Site Park on Sunday Sept. 26th. USMS Nationals
Congratulations to Ross Karakivrak and Samuel Olson for competing in the 2021 USMS National Championships In Greensboro, NC in July. Ross swam in 6 events and had 2 x 2nd place, 1 x 4th place, 2 x 5th places, and 1 x 8th place finish. Sam had an outstanding meet with 4 first place finishes and 4 Arkansas Masters records. Congratulations Sam and Ross for representing Arkansas Masters so well!
Top 10 Short Course Yards
Due to lack of swim meets the past year, if you were able to sneak in a meet this spring, you had a pretty good chance of setting a Top 10 time. I say this only because I had 3 Top Ten Swims, and compared to previous years, my times really were NOT Top 10 calliber. Having said that, we are still be proud of all these Arkansas swimmers who competed and achieved Top 10 status this year for Short Course Yards. A special kudos to Dottie Burke, Noel Strauss, Byron Shefchik, Larry Golden and Doug Martin for achieving the #1 spot(s). Way to go!
